Twenty 2 Baker Street

Created by John Myers of Portland, Maine’s The Grill Room. Inspired by a take on a recipe that was inspired by Sherlock Holmes, John’s creation is amazingly balanced with the fresh basil, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice. Make your way to The Grill Room and order one up today, or gather up the ingredients and make one at home, either way you will thoroughly enjoy this concoction.

St. Clementine

Inspired by Dana Moos and Musings of the Foodmadam (http://foodmadam.com/2011/01/27/a-hard-days-work-deserves-some-good-crusty-bread-cheese-and-cocktails/). Her recipe calling for fresh clementine juice, Twenty 2 Vodka, St. Germaine, Chambord, and Cranberry made my mouth water. Our version is a slight twist, and just as delicious. Check out Dana’s foodie perspective as she travels around Maine (along with some very cool photos) here: http://foodmadam.com/about/Thanks Dana!

The Twenty 2 Key Lime Pie

A slight modification on our Recipe #8 – Lemon Meringue Pie, this recipe uses fresh squeezed lime juice and sweetened condensed milk to create a frothy and delicious bite of pie you can drink. Be sure to chill all ingredients well before mixing, since this recipe calls for a dry shake (without ice). Count to 30 and shake as hard as you can to transform the egg white into a meringue like consistency packed with sweet lime flavor.

Recipe Text:

  • Chill glass and all ingredients well. Rim glass with finely crushed Graham Crackers
  • In an empty shaker, combine:
  • 2 oz Twenty 2 Vodka
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 oz Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 Egg White
  • Dry shake (no ice) hard for at least 30 seconds
  • Pour into chilled and rimmed glass

Twenty 2 Cranberry Couplet

This recipe will yield two servings of a delightfully sweet Valentine’s Day cocktail to share with your sweetheart. Twenty 2 Vodka and cranberry (red this time :) ) are sweetened just right with some grenadine. And since we’re also celebrating President’s Day this weekend, we threw in a cherry at the bottom in honor of that infamous cherry tree legend says Washington chopped down. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Recipe Text:

  • In a shaker half filled with ice, combine:
  • 3 oz Twent2 Vodka
  • 4 oz Cranberry Juice
  • 1 oz Grenadine
  • Shake hard to mix ingredients
  • Strain equally into 2 champagne flutes
  • Garnish each with a maraschino cherry

Doctah’s Orders

Long before the days of growing to conglomerate status, many a soda company began as a herbal blend designed to cure anything from flatfeet to farsightedness. Many of these mostly herbal concoctions were notoriously heavy on the the alcohol content (along with some other now illegal substances), and generally tasted just plain awful. Diluting the full strength recipe with gobs of sugar and carbonated water made the mix more palatable, and ushered certain formulas into today’s mass consumption. Today’s mix promises to save you the experience of the evolution, delivering just the sweet and perfectly balanced flavors with some added fruit for your health. Take 2 and call us in the morning.

Recipe Text:

  • Prep: In an empty pint glass, muddle 2 maraschino cherries and 1 slice of orange
  • Fill glass to the top with fresh ice
  • 1 1/2 oz Twenty 2 Vodka
  • Top off with Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper
  • Garnish with an extra cherry (or 2)

Coconut Candied Apple

Lots of inspiration led to the creation of this cocktail.  With cider season comes the fall fairs, and candied apples with their crazy array of coatings. For our coating, we went for coconut, which we achieved with 1 oz of Coconut rum (Malibu or the like). I bet amaretto, or frangelico would also taste great substituted for the Malibu. Finally, the Hershey’s Caramel Syrup really makes this cocktail special, look for it in the ice cream section of your local grocer, or let us know if you have a good alternative!

Recipe Text:

  • Prep: Drizzle Hershey’s Carmel Syrup onto the inner walls of a martini glass. Set aside.
  • In an shaker glass filled with ice, combine:
  • 1 1/2 oz Twenty 2 Vodka
  • 1 oz Coconut Rum (Malibu)
  • 1 1/2 oz Local Apple Cider
  • 1/2 oz (1 Tablespoon) Hershey’s Carmel Syrup
  • Shake hard to mix and chill
  • Strain into the prepped martini glass
